Student voices: Tutoring helped me become more confident
At Tutorfair Foundation, we partner with inspiring charities such as Urban Promise to provide tuition support to students who can benefit from it most.
We love hearing from students about the difference tutoring has made to them. Here’s what 15-year-old Sasha*, a student in Year 11 has to say.
What subjects do you take tutoring support in?
I take tutoring support in Science.
How has this helped you?
Tutoring has helped me achieve my target grades, and I even got a grade 7 on one of my science exams. It has also helped me become more confident in my answers.
What do you like most about the tutoring sessions?
The thing I like most about my sessions is working through past exam papers.
What would you like to do after you complete school?
After school, I plan to attend Robert Clack Sixth Form to study Biology, Chemistry, and Media.
What is one thing you understand or can do now that you used to struggle with before tutoring?
I now understand halogens and electrons, and I know exactly how to draw atoms with their different types of bonds because my tutor is so knowledgeable in chemistry.
What advice would you give to another student who might be nervous about starting tutoring?
My advice is to just do it because it genuinely helps you prepare for your GCSEs.
