‘Spotlight on’ our charity partners: Urban Promise UK

At Tutorfair Foundation, we work with many wonderful charities in our efforts to get tuition to students who will benefit from it the most. In this series, we’d like to highlight the important work our charity partners are doing with young people—and the ways in which you could get involved!

This year, we are celebrating 3 years of collaboration with Urban Promise UK – a charity supporting children and young people in Barking and Dagenham to break through barriers and develop the young leaders of tomorrow.

Urban Promise offer an after school club, where young children can access homework support, opportunities for play and personal development, as well as a free healthy meal. The club is supported by a fantastic staff team, including members of Urban Promise’s Young Leader programme. This programme allows secondary school age students (“Student Leaders”) the opportunity to mentor and inspire the young children at the after school club, whilst also gaining hands-on experience of work, and the wage to go with it.

Tutorfair Foundation is extremely proud to work with Urban Promise’s Student Leaders; supporting them with free weekly GCSE and A-Level tutoring to help build confidence in their academic ability and give them the tools to thrive in education. So far, we’ve provided more than 350 hours of free tuition to 24 amazing Student Leaders.
