Safeguarding

We deliver all of our programmes in line with our independently audited Combined Child and Adult Safeguarding Policy and the corresponding policies from your school. This includes training and Enhanced Vetting for all of our volunteers, recording and monitoring online sessions and involving schools directly in our procedure for responding to concerns.

Tutors

We recruit volunteers through Tutorfair.com, following an appraisal of their academic qualifications, experience of tutoring and commitment to the programme. All volunteers undergo Child Protection and Safeguarding training as well as dedicated tutor training. Each of them will undergo an Enhanced Criminal Record Check, the details of which are shared with school ahead of their start.

Cost

Tutorfair Foundation operates its programmes at low or no cost to schools. This means that several schools in each year will have their provision sponsored by grant funding, whilst others will need to contribute to the costs of running the programme. For schools that fund their own programmes, we will provide tutoring at lower cost than any other provider.

Schools Programme

Since 2012 we have been working directly with schools and colleges to deliver volunteer-led tutoring to support young people from low-income or otherwise vulnerable backgrounds.

Our Schools Programme is available to primary, secondary and post-16 providers where:

1) more than 50% of the student population is eligible for the Pupil Premium Grant (or was eligible at the end of Key Stage 4); and/or

2) fewer than 25% of students from a low-income background are expected to achieve a grade 5 or above in GCSE English and Maths

This programme involves providing weekly 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3 tutoring to students, either in-person or online. Students receive a minimum of 10 hours’ tutoring, with support available across all subjects from KS2-KS5.

Bespoke Projects

If you are a school or college that doesn’t meet the criteria outlined above, or you have a specific vision for an intervention, you might be interested in exploring a Bespoke Project with us.

Historically, Bespoke Projects have included one-off events, short-term exam preparation interventions, summer schools, support in Alternative Provision settings or projects for students with additional SEN or SEMH challenges.

Whatever you have in mind, we’d be delighted to discuss it with you. Just get in touch with the team to let us know what you’re looking for and we’ll work with you to make your vision a reality.
