Student voices: tutoring is a wonderful experience

At Tutorfair Foundation, we partner with inspiring charities such as Urban Promise to provide tuition support to students who can benefit from it most. We love hearing from students about the difference tutoring has made to them. Here’s what 16-year-old Mira*, a student in Year 11, has to say about the support she received.

What subjects do you take tutoring support in?

I receive tutoring support for History.

How has this helped you?

It has improved my overall knowledge and understanding of the subject, and it has also improved the quality of my exam answers.

What do you like most about the tutoring sessions?

What I like most is my tutor, who is always very friendly and punctual.

What would you like to do after you complete school?

After I complete school, I would like to go to Warren Sixth Form to study English Literature, Film Studies, and Sociology.

What is one thing you understand or can do now that you used to struggle with before tutoring?

I now have a much better knowledge and understanding of the Cold War and the Vietnam War.

What advice would you give to another student who might be nervous about starting tutoring?

I would tell them that it is a wonderful experience and that you will be able to access a much wider range of helpful resources.
