‘Spotlight on’ our charity partners: HESTIA

At the Tutorfair Foundation, we work with many wonderful charities in our efforts to get tuition to students who will benefit from it the most. In this series, we’d like to highlight the important work our charity partners are doing with young people—and the ways in which you could get involved!

Spotlight on: HESTIA

Mission: “To provide support for those experiencing domestic abuse, modern slavery and mental health needs.”

Website: www.hestia.org

Hestia was founded in 1970 to support adults in crisis, and since then has evolved to support more than 18,000 adults and children in London each year, with a focus on providing support for those who have experienced domestic abuse and modern slavery.

Hestia’s modern slavery service has been running since 2011: they have supported more than 5,000 victims of modern slavery, and provide safe houses across London and Kent. They are one of the largest providers of these domestic abuse refuges in South East England, and the primary provider of support to victims of modern slavery in London.

At the Tutorfair Foundation, we have been partnering with HESTIA to provide one-to-one, long-term academic tuition for young people who are referred to us through the charity. Our long-term relationship with these students is a really important part of the work we do, and we hope to continue to support them with their academic studies for as long as they need!
