10,000 hours of free education

Friends of the Foundation Newsletter October 2025

As we get underway with the new term, we’re delighted to be reflecting on our biggest and best year ever in 2024-25! We’ve reached some truly impressive milestones, welcomed new members to the team and worked with some amazing and inspiring partners - all of which has helped to make last year one to remember!

Not only that, but we have lots of exciting news coming over the next term. Keep reading for opportunities to get your young people involved in our work, volunteer with us or support us on social media!

10,000 hours of free education in a single year!

We are incredibly proud to say that Tutorfair Foundation reached two really exciting milestones last year. Not only did our community of tutors support more than 500 young people in an academic year for the first time - but we also delivered over 10,000 hours of learning between September 2024 and July 2025! When we first started out, these kind of numbers took 6 or 7 years to reach - now we are seeing them in a single year.

Both of these figures have been targets of ours for several years and we're delighted to have finally surpassed them. We are, as always, extremely grateful to our volunteers, mentors, partners and of course, our students, for helping us to reach this incredible goal. We want to deliver even more support in 2025/26 - so make sure you get involved to help us offer more and better support for our students.

Volunteering Opportunity: Help a young person learn to read

We are very excited once again to be partnering with the literacy charity Chapter One to bring you a truly unique and reqarding online volunteering opportunity. You could use just 30 minutes of your week to make a direct impact on the lives of young children who are facing disadvantage and struggling with reading.
