Maths Academy, 2021

This project was conceived as a continuation of Tutorfair Foundation’s successful partnership with Upward Bound UK. This report presents the feedback and findings from 1,000 hours of one-to-one volunteer tutoring provided to young people from Islington between January and September 2021.

Teach Westminster (Pilot), 2021

Teach Westminster is a project conceived collaboratively by Tutorfair Foundation and Global Teaching Alliance – a group of young volunteers from Westminster. The purpose of the project is twofold: to provide one-to-one academic support to Key Stage 3 students from disadvantaged backgrounds in Westminster and to empower young voices to effect positive change in their community. This report presents the findings and recommendations from the 2021 pilot project.

KS5 Chemistry in Westminster, 2021

KS5 Chemistry in Westminster was a tutoring programme delivered between November 2020 and May 2021. Supported by Westminster Foundation, Evince Asset Management and The Royal Society of Chemistry, the project was designed to support KS5 students recover lost learning and boost confidence during and after COVID-19 school closures.

Click, Connect… Learn?, 2019

This report brings together learning and insights from the Click, Connect, Learn Fund, a partnership between Nesta and OCS at The Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) that tested models to scale online tuition for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, supported by volunteer tutors.

Tutorfair On-Demand Evaluation, 2018

Tutorfair Foundation has developed an on-demand app, offering one-to-one maths tuition to students from disadvantaged areas through an instant messaging platform. The app was piloted in four schools over the 2017-18 academic year, beginning in September 2017, and has since been rolled out to other schools across the country. This report presents the findings from this pilot, based on an evaluation by The Social Innovation Partnership.

Middlesex University Outreach - Maths Attainment Project, 2021

The Maths Attainment programme was designed to build mathematical resilience amongst a cohort that had previously failed to complete mathematics GCSE qualifications to the standard required by most universities, and through this, to improve attainment within that cohort. This report presents an evaluation of the project’s various delivery stages throughout 2020.

Upward Bound and Tutorfair Foundation’s Summer School, 2020

Upward Bound and Tutorfair Foundation’s Summer School was a 6-week tutoring programme delivered between 27th July and 4th September 2020. The project was conceived collaboratively by the two organisations as a novel way of connecting Upward Bound’s beneficiaries with Tutorfair Foundation’s community of volunteers through the summer break, following a period of severe disruption within the education system.

Top Set Tutoring, 2019

Top Set Tutoring was launched in December 2018 by Tutorfair Foundation and Sir Walter St John Charity with the aim of improving outcomes and attitudes to learning amongst selected Year 11 students at Evelyn Grace Academy.
